From our friends at stopthegerrymander.com:
In the last few days, many of you have received a text, call, email, or Facebook invite related to our effort to stop the gerrymander in Virginia. If you haven’t yet, please take a moment to connect with us and like:

I’m grateful to Congressman Ben Cline for stepping up to chair www.stopthegerrymander.com and lead the most important vote in the country right now. We are up against a $21 million, out-of-state liberal effort designed to rig the rules—so that if Republicans win 48 percent of the Congressional vote again like they did in 2024, they would end up with just 1 of 11 congressional seats instead of the current, fair 5.
This fight will not be won on TV. As Congressman Cline has made clear, this is a grassroots campaign—and that means we need you.

Here’s how you can take action right now:
- Sign up: www.stopthegerrymander.com
- Engage online: Like, comment, and share
https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=stopthegerrymander - Volunteer: Reply to all to info@stopthegerrymander.com which will go to our whole team to get you set up with a calling account or door-knocking tools
- Host an event: Invite Congressman Ben Cline to speak or send Jack, Lars, myself, or another surrogate to mobilize your network. We came out of the gates with meeting in the nine places on the map. You may notice that our initial 9-stop swing on the map did not include stops in big parts of two of the best VOTE NO areas in the state – Southwest and up the Valley- but we’ve already had people in four areas ask for bus tour stops on the final tour so tentatively we will all be in Shenandoah County (April 9), Montgomery County and Abingdon (April 11) and Dickenson County (April 13). Let us know if you’d like a bus tour stop or visit to your church on a Sunday between now and then.
This campaign will be won the same way we’ve won before—through committed grassroots conservatives taking action.
For those of us who remember 1993, this moment feels familiar. Back then, we left the Republican convention with my first political boss George Allen as our nominee, no money, and everything stacked against us. But we left with a world record 13,000 convention attendees —and launched a generation of conservative leadership in Virginia.
I’m seeing that same energy again.
We also have a new generation stepping up. Leaders like Jack Anderson on our team—who I met when he was a college freshman. I watched him build the most effective statewide College Republicans of America organization and then take the model he built and sign up 1,000+ college campuses info his organization. He knows how to build the youth quickly around an issue like this that even moderate college students like because they don’t like either party and want a nonpartisan redistricting process. Jack was appointed as a Special Assistant to Robert Kennedy so we are thrilled he took this effort as soon as he was free to work on political efforts again.
But we need you fully engaged.
Don’t just follow—act:
- Volunteer to make calls
- Knock on doors
- Recruit others
- Bring Congressman Cline to your group, you campus or your church and help spread the message. My first weekend on the job it was great to be at Liberty University and a Thomas Road Baptist service and then branch out on the tour on the map.
Whether through our effort or alongside partners like The Family Foundation, Virginia Faith and Freedom, the Republican Party of Virginia, or through the group focused on swing voters-FairVote—your involvement matters.
If the thousands of Virginians outraged by this power grab step up the way grassroots conservatives have in the past, we will win.
Let’s get to work.
-John Pudner
