There’s been a ton of material out there speaking to the Congressional Review Act ratification that congress has been debating in D.C. Here is some supporting information that may be helpful when trying to understand what’s happening, or when needing to correct the record when exchanging with critics:

Congressman Wittman voted yes to deliver once-in-a-generation investments that will:
1. Secure, strengthen, and sustain Medicaid for Americans who need it most
2. Invest in rural schools and renew the Child Tax Credit and Adoption Tax Credit
3. Bolster our national defense
4. Stop the flow of fentanyl at our southern border
5. Lower energy costs
6. Deliver historic tax relief and prevent the largest tax hike in American history

The bill also extends the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:
1. Which protects Virginia families from tax hikes of up to 19%
2. For a typical family of four in Virginia’s First District, that’s $2,300 in savings—equal to three months of groceries

Next Steps:
1. Following this vote, the Senate will debate the measure before sending it back to the House for a final vote.
2. This process allows further opportunities to negotiate wins for Virginians.
