There’s been a lot of chatter out there about the recent Tazewell court ruling regarding the redistricting Constitutional amendment vote. Yes, the court did halt efforts to conduct early voting beginning on March 6th, because that date did not allow the minimum time to pass since the amendment language was ratified (45 days). HOWEVER, the court did not strike down the amendment vote entirely, so we’re betting that this is simply a delay. Look for a new voting day to be announced, pushed back far enough for the minimum time thresholds to be met before early voting begins. Stay tuned to learn more as this develops, and be ready to ACTIVATE as soon as know something more concrete.
In the meantime, please consider donating to the committee so that we may quickly order new signs and other announcement materials to be able to execute as soon as we get word. We need your help!
