Your ballot will contain selections for three (3) proposed amendments to the VA State Constitution. The CCRC encourages you to vote “No” on all three of these amendments. Note some important preamble information to help explain what amendment #3 really does:
Amendment 3 establishes an immediate right to vote for violent felons upon release, and establishes their right to serve as jurors, judges, and/or elected representatives.
IT ALSO PERMITS THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN DECLARED MENTALLY INCOMPETENT TO VOTE!
The only way to prevent the mentally incompetent from voting in Virginia’s elections is through a special court action.
